Speed meet a scientist | August 2018

As part of the Sydney Science Festival, I participated in 'Speed meet a scientist' at the Sydney Powerhouse Museum. Over three hours, I spoke to members of the public about why they should be worried about face recognition and how super-recognisers could be part of the solution. It was great fun and an honour to be amongst 40 other incredible scientists talking about their research.

London Science Museum Lates | December 2016

My colleagues and I from the University of York in the UK participated in the London Science Museum's Lates event - an adults only, after-hours night of interactive science demonstrations and talks by leading scientists. We set up a makeshift passport control desk and tested the public's ability to verify the identity of a traveller. Little did the public know we were trying out a new form of identity fraud. Stay tuned for an upcoming publication!

PSYCh!York | June 2016

Along with Dr. Robin Kramer and Dr. Mila Mileva from the FaceVar Lab at the University of York, we spent the day talking to the public about face perception, why face recognition is so difficult and testing their ability to identify an offender in CCTV footage.

FameLab NSW | April 2016

I had the pleasure of competing in FameLab alongside 11 other early career scientists. PowerPoint and jargon are out - props and creative delivery in 3 minutes are in!
